Why driftyfluff.com?
As a teenager I had unruly
fluffy hair, earning myself the 'fluff' nickname. (thank heaven for GHD - see above)
Passing the big 3-0 must have affected my directional antenna and
car journeys became longer. I
always followed my nose, eventually reaching my destination, but
by a much more pleasant and scenic route. This earned me the
'drifty' tag. I
thank my younger brother for the 'driftyfluff' combination.
Whilst
out driving with him and friends one day, along country
lanes, I missed a turning to home. I
decided to detour a little and took a right turn further along the
lane, onto
an unmade track, with a view to turning back.
As I
sat in the car waiting to manoeuvre, I
looked across a field towards home pondering whether the sign
stating
'unsuitable for vehicles' actually included my old car.
(Being a Proton driver at the
time, I had become used to hearing how my choice of car really didn't
class as a vehicle and I shouldn't regard it as such.) My brother, in his usually wonderful
way looked at me and said 'You're thinking of driving that way
aren't you? You really are drifty. What a driftyfluff!' Needless to say, I turned back and
returned to our original route, complete with a new nickname, which seems to
have stuck.
I think I must add that my brother is never referred to by his given
name and
known to all as Norris (in the
Slow Sloth,
lets not move too fast Mr Couldn't Get Anymore Laid Back Way).
